The Memorial Day Weekend Wit & Wisdom of G-Eminem

Note: This is truly depressing. This should have 25,000,000 views and not 25,000.

There’s simply no two ways about it: if you support public financing for a sports stadium you support the redistribution of wealth from the pensioner to the box seat holder; from the fixed-income poor to the upper-middle class suburbanite; from working class people of color to the fish-belly white middle manager.

You are, in short, the most contemptible of all people.

6 dozen of one, half-a-dozen of another.

My guy.

The good news, at least if you’re one of those increasingly rare people who has a job and can afford to go on a summer vacation, is that gas prices are going down.

The bad news is it’s because demand is falling due to the world economy plummeting back into full-blown recession.

If you ever start a sentence with the words, “But Rush says…”, I pledge to punch you in the throat.

Sean Trende is the smartest and most interesting political scientist in the biz because he never fails to challenge long-established dogmas. While it gives me no great joy to say it, I believe the Corporatist will prevail in November, and not by a particularly narrow margin.

RealClearPolitics – Romney’s Path Is Not Necessarily Narrow

Goldman Sachs challenger opens up a 5-point lead on Goldman Sachs incumbent, 49-44%.

“Professional sports provides an escape from reality, a much-needed distraction from stressful lives.” Rep. John Kriesel

If government ought to be in the business of providing “needful distractions”, there is, simply put, no business in which government should not be involved and the Republican Party, the erstwhile party of limited government, ought to turn out the lights (if they haven’t already been shut off for non-payment of utility bills) and disband.

“Crony capitalism” is a polite way of saying fascism. And fascism is the bipartisan economic policy of our time whether the beneficiaries are “green jobs”, banks that benefit Republican constituencies, or taxpayer-funded stadiums.

The hour is later than you imagined.

Now that we’re paying for one another’s entertainment, where do I submit my cable bill?

“Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Thus the beneficiaries are spared the shame and danger that their acts would otherwise involve… But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them and gives it to the other persons to whom it doesn’t belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of anothe…r by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish that law without delay … No legal plunder; this is the principle of justice, peace, order, stability, harmony and logic.” ~Frederick Bastiat’s prophetic utterance about the Viking Stadium 2 centuries ago (H/T: Chris Hiatt)

The neighbors across the alley thought it was a good idea to take their karaoke party outside. I thought it was a good idea to brandish my firearms.

I will reserve the right to revisit once around Labor Day, but this is my electoral college prediction for 2012.

Former Daily Show Producer: I Felt Uncomfortable Mocking People Just Because I Disagreed With Them |

I’ve often been frustrated to have to choose between the “lesser of two evils” on election day. It seems like people who truly support Limited Constitutional Government, Personal Liberty, and Free Market Economics rarely have the desire to …step into the belly of the beast and change things from the inside of the government. I have decided to step up and do my part to create a better future for Minnesota. For this noble cause, that we may again be a land which values the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, I’m announcing my candidacy for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 52B. To learn more about my campaign you can check out my website: I ask for your support and your prayers! – Paul
